Hello AD/Coach –
Please enroll your school in Heads Up Football using the link below. Heads Up Football is an annual enrollment by schools, so even if you enrolled in prior years you will have to do so again in 2018 to be recognized as participating in the initiative.

USA Football will be conducting two clinics throughout the state this summer.
• June 2nd - Port Angeles High School, 10am - 2pm.
• June 19th - Eastmont HS (Wenatchee), 5pm - 9pm.
The in-person Heads Up Football® Clinic will cover the following:
• Concussion education – how to identify and respond to symptoms of concussions (overview/highlights)
• Heat and hydration education – how to prevent, recognize and treat athletes (overview/highlights)
• Sudden Cardiac arrest – how to respond suspected sudden cardiac arrest (overview/highlights)
• Equipment fitting – how to fit equipment and check the fit of equipment throughout the season
• Shoulder Tackle System (fundamentals, leverage, form tackle, thigh and drive tackle and thigh and roll tackle – with the emphasis on limited helmet contact)
• NEW: Effective Practice Planning/Coaching Philosophy/Leadership
• NEW: Contact System: Blocks/Defeating Blocks (skill development for one-on-one blocking, LOS and in space & engaging/defeating blocks – while minimizing head contact during line play)

In additional to the in-person clinic, football coaches are encouraged to complete their Heads Up Football High School Coach Certification by successfully completing the four courses found at www.NFHSlearn.com/headsupfootball:

• Sudden Cardiac Arrest (free)
• Blocking and Defeating Blocks/Shoulder Tackling & Equipment Fitting ($10 – transaction happens at NFHSlearn.com)
